You can ask Elon Musk anything on Twitter if you pay him $4 a month with new ‘Subscriptions’ feature

On Thursday, Elon Musk revealed a new name for Twitter’s “Super Follows” feature: “Subscriptions.” This feature allows users to share exclusive content with their followers and charge them for access. Musk tweeted that subscribers could look forward to exclusive long-form text, long-form videos, and subscriber-only Spaces. Additionally, subscribers would receive special badges to show their support.

Musk himself has a “Subscriptions” feature, where subscribers pay $4 a month for access to an “ask-me-anything” session every few weeks. He stated that Twitter would not keep any of the revenue generated by users for the next 12 months, except for the 30% fee charged by Apple and Google for iOS and Android.

However, Google has refuted Musk’s claim, stating that the service fee for all subscriptions on Google Play was reduced from 30% to 15% last year. Twitter’s latest move to generate more revenue comes as Musk claims the company is “roughly breaking even.”

Since taking over Twitter in October, Musk has implemented new features, including Twitter Blue, which grants users a blue checkmark if they pay for a monthly membership. He has also reduced the workforce by around 80%.

Neither Apple nor Google has responded to requests for comment from Insider outside of normal business hours. Twitter responded to the inquiry with an automated message that did not address the question.
