Meanwhile, Harper’s Bazaar reported that Meghan’s decision to stay behind was partly due to Archie’s birthday celebrations. Although Harry will attend the coronation, he is not expected to attend other events over the weekend.
The couple had previously not confirmed whether they would attend the coronation, but now it has been confirmed that Harry will be present. His last visit to the UK was for a lawsuit against the Daily Mail’s publishers, Associated Newspapers Ltd, where he made some direct comments about the royal family’s relationship with the British press.
While Harry did not provide specific reasons for Meghan and their children not accompanying him, security concerns are likely to be a factor. Harry has been trying to fight for the right to pay for royal protection officers when his family is in the UK, as they have received threats in the past.
Since their last visit to the UK in September, Harry and Meghan have lost more protection, with Charles ordering them to vacate their overseas home, Frogmore Cottage. According to sources, the couple was left stunned by this decision. Despite this, Harry is still attending the coronation to support his father.
