Unwanted dog spared from euthanasia still looking for a home after 500 days in shelter

Although he has a disturbing history, his carers at the RSPCA have described Buddy as a “pretty boy” and a “good boy.” And although his former owner gave him up after an exhausting act, he has improved greatly with lots of love and training.
Despite all this, Buddy recently celebrated his 500th day at the sanctuary. He has been in the RSPCA’s care longer than any other canine.
But they are still waiting for a palliative for Buddy to find a perfect home. “Buddy loved life with us back in the day… but as much as we love him, we can’t help but want to see him move into his new home,” the RSPCA wrote on Facebook. .
But given Buddy’s past, he’ll need a stress-free home with janitors who can continue to give him the love and attention he needs.
“Buddy is going to need a really special home with conscientious guardians who have the time and tolerance to help him live the happiest life possible,” says his resignation broker. “That life should be free of fights, other pets and other related stressors.”
So not all homes are right for Buddy, but the RSPCA is hoping there’s always a perfect family for him. And whoever takes him in will have a loving, playful companion.
At 10 years old, Buddy is not a puppy, but he’s still jumping around, full of energy. “Don’t make fun of his age, this sprat is still FULL of sap!!!” they wrote on Facebook.
500 days is too long for a canine to be in a sanctuary. We hope that after all this poor canine has been through, he finds a loving home soon!
