John Stamos, famously known for his role as Jesse Katsopolis on “Full House,” revealed on the “Good Guys” podcast (via Insider) that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were once fired from the show when they were only 11 months old. Stamos explained that the persistent crying of the twins on set had driven him crazy.

He narrated a scene where he and Dave Coulier, who played Joey, were changing Michelle Tanner’s diaper. The Olsen twins switched off playing Michelle during the show’s run.

Stamos explained that while they were carrying the baby downstairs and took her to the kitchen, he and Coulier hosed her down, but the baby kept screaming. The twins switched off playing the role of Michelle, but both of them kept crying, and they wanted to be anywhere else but there.

Stamos revealed that he couldn’t deal with it and screamed ten times, “This is not gonna work. Get rid of them, I can’t work like this.” They eventually brought in two redheaded kids to replace the twins, but Stamos didn’t find them attractive.

The filming continued without the Olsen twins for only a few days, after which Stamos asked the crew to bring them back. “Full House” served as a breakthrough for the Olsen twins, who later gained international fame by headlining various TV movies and direct-to-DVD films like “Passport to Paris” and “Our Lips are Sealed.” Stamos also reprised his role as Jesse Katsopolis on “Fuller House,” the Netflix sequel series that ran for five seasons and 75 episodes.
