A Seasonal Twist: Pear and Praline Chocolate Cake Recipe
Posted October 25, 2023 by: Admin
Here is a little recipe I prepared some time ago, so pears are not really in season anymore, but feel free to substitute them with well-drained canned pears.
Description:
For a 28 cm mold, you will need the following ingredients:
For the dough:
- 125 g of butter
- 3 eggs
- 1 vanilla bean
- 100 g of sugar
- 250 g of flour
- 1/2 packet of baking powder
- A pinch of salt
For the filling:
- 2 pears
- 80 g of praline milk chocolate (Pralinoise)
- 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
- A few small pieces of butter
Start by preheating your oven to 180°C with the convection setting. Melt the butter in the microwave.
In a bowl (or in the bowl of a mixer fitted with a whisk), whisk the eggs with the scraped vanilla bean seeds and the sugar until you have a foamy mixture. Sift in the flour with the baking powder, then add the melted butter and a pinch of salt.
Pour half of the batter into the mold (greased and floured if necessary). Arrange a layer of pear slices. Sprinkle half of the crushed chocolate in small pieces. Cover with the remaining batter, then the rest of the pear slices. Sprinkle with brown sugar and the remaining chocolate pieces. Distribute the small pieces of butter that will caramelize the top of the cake.
Bake and let it cook for 45 minutes.
This pear and praline chocolate cake is a delicious creation, perfect for all seasons. Even if pears are no longer in season, you can replace them with canned pears to enjoy this treat anytime. The combination of the sweet flavors of pears, praline chocolate, and the mildness of vanilla makes it an irresistible dessert. Try this recipe and enjoy!
